Role Summary

Fox Ann Arbor is seeking an Automotive General Manager to lead Hyundai, Nissan and Acura dealerships performance with disciplined financial oversight, operational rigor, and a customer-centric mindset. This role exists to deliver consistent results against dealer and manufacturer expectations while developing a high-performing leadership team.

Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee daily operating control (DOC), annual goals, and budget planning; provide accurate weekly financial reporting.
- Set, track, and coach department monthly/annual objectives with managers; approve compensation plans.
- Hire, train, motivate, and formally evaluate department managers; align policies and procedures across the dealership.
- Ensure timely, accurate monthly financial statements and maintain strong relationships with lenders and manufacturer partners.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns and guide marketing messaging and advertising effectiveness.

Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years related experience, or 4–10 years related experience/training, or equivalent.
- Proven management success meeting/exceeding budgets and performance goals.

Daily Operating Rhythm

As Automotive General Manager, your day is structured around visibility and cadence. Mornings begin with a review of DOC trends and current financial indicators, followed by targeted check-ins with department leaders to confirm progress against forecasts and address emerging variances early. Midday time is reserved for reviewing reports, validating statement readiness, and aligning with the office manager on accuracy and consistency of records. You will also maintain ongoing communication with lending and manufacturer contacts to keep priorities and expectations synchronized. Later in the day, you will hold focused discussions on talent development, training requests, and leadership performance, ensuring decisions are documented and follow-through is clear. When escalations arise, you will step in to bring customer matters to resolution with professionalism and urgency, then return to planning for sustained month-end execution.
